Yup, media purchasing is so important to me that I demand it as soon as I get more funds. Trick-or-treaters be damned! (No one came last year, so why does my dad expect some tonight anyway?)

Yup, that’s not much. It’s all I could afford right now. I picked up Alien Hunter (instead of the planned Hulk) at Best Buy for $20. And went to Circuit City to pick up Coupling (the superior UK series): Season 2.. but they didn’t have them in stock. And I ended up buying Hulk there instead… I may buy Coupling online or during the media buying next Tuesday (the bigger check arrives Monday). Ah well…

a long Friday / links

I woke up and watched the next two Dark Angel episodes almost immediately. I spotted Jorgito Vargas (Navy Thunder Ranger of Ninja Storm) in the 2nd one, “Dawg Day Afternoon”. He was seen quite prominently in the first half of the episode. 🙂 Then, the DVD screwed up near the end. Ugh. I reloaded it and it did it again. Then I loaded it into my bedroom DVD player and it played fine (except for that millisecond where something happened to the picture). Do you think I should replace it? I’m going to Best Buy (where I bought it) today (…and Tuesday) anyway. Hm..

Then I finally listened to Mandy Moore’s new “Coverage” CD. It was cool. I only recognized three or so songs though.. After Passions, I watched Tru Calling. Wow. This was a really great first episode. Too bad I can’t watch it live since Friends is on opposite of it though.

Then I checked the mail. Everything came today. It was so filled, some of it burst out at me when I opened the box. Then I watched CSI…an episode from LAST Thursday. After watching that, I deleted it from the DVR and noticed my DVR copy of last night’s CSI episode stopped early because the box was full (last eight minutes were missing!). 😦 So I deemed it useless and deleted that too. Ugh.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to prepare for today’s media buying. See ya…

Ah. I sit down and attempt to enjoy another Thursday night in front of the TV with my dad. First, he decides to go outside and discuss neighborhood gossip with the other girls. I am left alone watching Friends. …I wish I had friends… Then, he came in just in time for Will & Grace. I attempt to enjoy watching that and pretty soon after… there’s a knock at the door. It’s an invasion of the others he always goes and talks to..including his ex. They begin talking. I just want to watch TV. That ex sits down next to me. Discussion get louder, and my dad turns down the TV. I set Scrubs to record on the DVR and retreat to my room. Yes, I would like to actually spend time with ..most.. of them… only not now. Damnit. Grr. 😡

I have a feeling that tomorrow will be crazy. I’ll be eagerly awaiting the first, smaller check in the mail so I can media buy …and I won’t be able to do anything with it until my dad gets home. Argh. At least I have a few Dark Angel DVD episodes and a few things I’ve DVRed in the last few days to keep me busy…

Check out this sentai petition. A Media Blasters representative has said they are interested in releasing sentai in the US, but aren’t sure if there are enough people who would buy these DVDs, so this petition was made. I signed simply because I’m curious. I’d like to see some dubbed episodes…

Oh look what zyuray of RangerBase.com have stumbled upon: A Power Rangers Ninja Storm, Volume 1: Prelude To A Storm DVD review @ Cinescape.com. And the verdict isn’t so bad as the others we’ve seen. 🙂

Speaking of Power Rangers on DVD, Buena Vista has ran a new two-page article in this week’s issue of Video Business magazine! If I could scan it, I would. It includes the new DVD titles for Lizzie McGuire, Recess, and Power Rangers Ninja Storm, Volume 4: Samurai’s Journey & Volume 5: Cyber Clash. The covers are featured, along with this line: “For The First Time Ever, Two New DVDs With Bonus Features!”. And if that wasn’t cool enough, the ad claims the Power Rangers DVDs are included in thier “Buy 3, Get 1 Free” offer! The offer expires December 31st…

It seems Paul Freeman is returning to Power Rangers next year in Dino Thunder, according to this news from Ryan Johnson (aka Ecliptor17). Paul previously played the role of Ivan Ooze in the original Power Rangers movie…and Newbury News Weekly is saying he is “reprising the role” for Dino Thunder. All I can say is.. “wow”. Let’s hope Dino Thunder lives up to all the hype. 🙂

It’s sad when my dad thinks he must make up all these excuses for why he’s still going to church. Today, he claimed he had to drive his daughter’s (my stepsis?).. daughter to some youth meeting.. thing there. It doesn’t take over five hours to drive someone to church. And he only goes on Sunday morning.. every other week. Weird. He’s probably over at their house watching that all-important Pacers basketball game. *rolls eyes*

That game pre-empted my favorite show of the night, Smallville, to 11PM. But I still managed to stay awake enough to see it.. and it was a good episode too. I liked how the others became heroes for once. 😉 Then I watched tonight’s new South Park that I had DVRed. It was hilarious.. and it had a good message about music sharing on the ‘net. I may have to put it on one of my South Park VHS’ the next time it airs…

Sometimes, I wonder if I’m the only Power Rangers fan (that’s not a child) that doesn’t enjoy talking about sentai. I don’t. At all. And when I’m invited to a Power Rangers chat on AIM, I expect Power Rangers chat. But it ends up becoming almost all sentai chat. I don’t know sentai. And I don’t ever want to. I bought a bootleg DVD a while back with the first episodes of Hurricanger (what became Power Rangers Ninja Storm). To this day, I have only watched the first two. I don’t feel like watching anymore sentai either. For the most part, it may be that I don’t speak Japanese. And it’s too difficult to read the subtitles (on the DVD) while still keeping track of what’s going on onscreen… I wish there were more places to chat about only Power Rangers. *sigh* (And I’ve been holding these thoughts in for a while until now.)

Damn. It’s past 2AM already. I guess I’ll be off to bed now. See ya…

today’s dose of useless babble… / links

Today was supposed to be media Tuesday. But I’m too broke to buy anything. Dangit. Instead, I watched two more Dark Angel episode on DVD, watched the new episode of Skin I DVRed last night (another excellent episode), as well an episode of CSI that had been beginning to collect dust. Then hoping I would get the first (small) check early in the mail, but..nothing. I hope it comes tomorrow (even though if on schedule it won’t arrive until Friday). My dad’s off work again..

Tonight’s 24 premiere? Excellent.. except for that annoying two-part “donation” commercial.. though it would make a nice extra on the next DVD set.. and yes, that was my first thought when I saw it. 😛 I might watch it for a few more weeks to cement my decision on buying the “Day 3” DVDs, then begin watching something else. The “Day 2” episodes I watched for the first time on DVD were way more exciting to me than the ones I had already seen.. and I like watching them on my schedule instead of the network’s. 🙂

I’ve become too dependent on ..media shopping.. to keep me happy. It pre-empts my depression so I MUST have it. I starting to find out how it feels to be without it. Not good. At all. That’s so sad… My dad has bought a bag of candy for the trick-or-treaters (he thinks there may actually be some this year because some kids recently moved in upstairs). But the first check may come Friday too. And I must shop as soon as I get it… 😦

Anyway… I went to see Scary Movie 3 today. It was the top-grossing movie this weekend. I also found it hilarious. Can’t wait for the DVD to see it again. It was cool watching it in a theater of under 10 people. We should see movies this way more often. I’m hoping Scary Movie 4 will be awesome too.

My dad suspects someone was in our apartment while we were gone. He claims that his pack of cigarettes were moved a few inches from where he left them. Weird…

Today was very uneventful…but what day isn’t with me? Heh. I woke up almost 90 minutes before the alarm. I guess my body still has to get used to the time change…

After my dad left for church, I watched some shows I taped during the past week. What stood out was the pilot episode of Skin. Wow. It looks very promising… Then I headed back to bed for a 90-minute nap near noon. My dad arrived home only 10 minutes after I woke up. After that, I loaded GTA Vice City and ended up playing that until my dad’s football game was over. Then we went out on that errand one more time…

Tarzan is a great series. I may reconsider taping it weekly (on a tape) once its 8-hour tape fills up. I’m currently considering taping Skin weekly too. I watched it again after Tarzan so my dad could see it..and he slept through a good amount of it. Gr.

Tomorrow, we’re seeing Scary Movie 3.. but our funds are starting to wane. So we have to start cutting back on stuff again.. and I have to pay for this cable internet again. Ah well…

Now I gotta go watch that Dark Angel episode I forgot to watch today. See ya.
