gransazer in usa? / area 51 film / dbgt ps1 re-release / clone wars date / rnc arrest / today

August 31, 2004

Lion’s Gate Films is in the process of licensing Gransazer in the states to compete with Power Rangers. I have no link, it’s something I read in the latest issue of Animerica.

This was recently posted by Lio Convoy on the Power Rangers newsgroup. Interesting… For those unfamiliar with the Japanese series, check this out. πŸ™‚

While on the subject, check out this neat article about a former Power Rangers writer.. The article reveals that Haim Saban first bought US rights to sentai for only $35,000. Heh.. :p

Remember that upcoming video game titled Area 51 that I can’t seem to shut up about? Well, now Paramount Pictures has acquired the rights to make a film based on the game. Cooooool. πŸ™‚

Today, Atari is officially re-releasing the 1997 Dragonball: Final Bout fighting game for the Playstation. The current re-release of this critically panned game features a new cover illustration, the new title “Dragonball GT: Final Bout,” and a $14.99 retail price. The game was originally released in America in limited quantities by Bandai in July 1997.

I’ve heard this re-release is limited too. ..damnit.. 😦

According to, the third season of Star Wars: Clone Wars debuts on Cartoon Network March 21st, 2005. Mark your calendars now. In pencil, just in case.. :p

LAGUNA BEACH: THE REAL ORANGE COUNTY (MTV) – The cable channel has bumped the show’s premiere back two weeks as the reality take on “The O.C.” will now launch on Tuesday, September 28 at 10:30/9:30c following “The Real World.”

Ugh. It is just another reality show. I thought it was a REAL show. Damn MTV bastards…

Actress Rosario Dawson (Men in Black II) was arrested at an anti-Bush march and charged with two counts of disorderly conduct and the obstruction of governmental administration, the Reuters news service reported. Dawson was filming a scene for the independent film Medium Cool in Manhattan on Aug. 29, using protests against the Republican National Convention as a backdrop.

This further proves that no one can escape Bush’s unfree America… *sigh*

The morning was boring.. with the combination of all these reruns on TV and not being able to media buy. Damnit. Once my dad left for an appointment, I listened to a few Power Rangers CDs on the stereo, while waiting for Mighty Morphin Season 3 Vol 2 VCD to finish burning… Then a taped another MDN episode from DVR to VHS. Once my dad got back, we watched Passions. Somewhat better than yesterday, but lol at those styrofoam rocks. :p ..The rest of the afternoon was wasted online. :/ At around 7PM, I watched my Mighty Morphin Season 2 Vol 12 VCD. More great stand-alone episodes. My favorite of them had to be “When Is A Ranger Not A Ranger?”, where Bulk & Skull discovered who the Power Rangers were.. before having their minds erased.. not to mention that they saved the day. Heh. That was one of the most memorable episodes for me from way back when I originally saw it on TV (but I never managed to remember the title). πŸ™‚ After that, I played Vice City for two hours. I finally made some time to play it. Yay. I still haven’t checked out last month’s official PS2 magazine demo disc though.. >_> ..Then, I finally watched the season premieres of Father of the Pride and Scrubs. Pride was.. okay (dad asked why they were airing this kids show so late.. lol).. but Scrubs was just awesome. Soo funny. And I so can’t wait for those DVDs. :p

Today was somewhat better than yesterday. πŸ™‚ I hope I’m able to media buy tomorrow… See ya.

tmnt premiere postponed / smallville s3 dvd art / hole dvd / area 51 game info / today

August 30, 2004

Fox Box’s “season” premiere of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has been pushed back from September 11th to September 18th. I guess they wanted to re-air Part 1 before airing Parts 2-4. 😐 This last Saturday, “Secret Origins, Part Two” (of three) aired.. but next Saturday, it’ll skip to “April’s Artifact”. I’m guessing (with two TMNT timeslots on 9/11) that the last two episodes of last “season” will re-air: “Return Of The Justice Force” and “Big Brawl, Part One”… [Update: Yahoo! TV listings have confirmed these episodes for 9/11, at 9:30 & 10 AM ET.] has gotten their hands on official cover art for the upcoming Smallville: The Complete Third Season DVD set (due Nov. 16th). Thank you, WB, for putting someone on there besides just Clark for once. πŸ˜€

Dimension Home Video will finally release the Thora Birch / Keira Knightley thriller, The Hole, on US Region 1 DVD this October 19th. I’m a Keira Knightley fan, so I’m picking this up.. and because Keira goes nude in it.. at age 15. >_> *ahem* The Disney subsidiary better not edit it.. or I’ll be forced to buy the Canadian DVD that’s been out for about three and a half years.. :p

SciFi Wire has a few more details on the upcoming Area 51 PlayStation 2 & Xcox (er.. box) game, including that The X-Files‘ David Duchovny is voicing the lead character. Sweet. πŸ™‚ Oh, and here’s some screenshots courtesy of IGN..

The day begins.. with a nice dose of depression: my dad bitching about how we’re running out of money. He still hasn’t found a job, nor has he been looking that much either. :/ *sigh* I did get to watch Saturday’s Dragonball GT on DVR though.. with a few instances of rewinding (damn.. sleep). The my dad took over and decided he must watch a rerun of this local cop’s funeral on TV the rest of the morning. I guess he’s just continuing to feed his pathetic fantasy of being one himself… The opening to Passions was soo funny, recapping everything because of the two-week break.. then saying there’s more to come “after the break”. Then it went to the opening sequence.. and commercial break. lol.. But the rest of the ep just seemed to go so slooow again. Ugh. ..Then we had to call someone after a check came for me a few days early.. and for $859. O_O But they never got back to us today. Damnit. 😦 ..I’m really getting frustrated over not finding these two rare Mighty RAW songs (“Silver Ranger” and “Zords Instrumental”). 😦 ..There was still nothing good to watch in primetime, so I watched my Mighty Morphin Season 2 Vol 11 VCD. There were a few cool stand-alone eps here.. besides “Rocky Just Wants To Have Fun”. :p I also had time to watch last Saturday’s DVRed Gargoyles episode. Awesome. Maybe I’ll track down the rest of the episodes on Toon Disney once ABC Family drops it…

Blah. Today sucked, for the most part. See ya..

Sunday 08.29.04 — “Hi Tommy. Remember me? Zeo Ranger 5. Don’t tell me you’ve forgotten already.”

August 29, 2004

Ugh. I hate when Spike TV series, like Erin Cahill’s MDN, run over the scheduled timeslot. Like it did just a while ago. I DVR them with two extra minutes before and after.. and it still went over! Grrr. I guess I’ll have to expand my recordings even further… *rolls eyes*

Wow. I woke up about 6AM two days in a row.. without the alarm. But the alarm was set for 6:45. :/

Yup, already bored. I watched a MadTV repeat of Comedy Central before the power hour.. and saw a trailer for an awesome movie: Team America: World Police, from the creators of South Park. Wow. It seemed like a mix of Thunderbirds and the comedy of South Park to me. And I wasn’t expecting much when I first heard about it. Can’t wait for the DVD. :p ..The power hour was okay, especially with a second viewing of yesterday’s “Fighting Spirit”. Then I got bored for quite a while.. Now I’m DVR-to-VHSing another few MDN episodes while on the computer (yup, the show’s like torture.. can’t stand it.. but I’m still archiving it :/). And the second one’s cut off again.. even with four extra minutes. Grrrrrrr. I guess I’ll add four more next week. Gawd, Spike TV sucks.. bad.. A little later, I hope I can begin my viewing of my X-Files DVDs from first episode to last. πŸ™‚

So I watched that Radio Free Roscoe season premiere.. again. >_> Then I watched the X-Files pilot episode. It’s just as great on the 36543th viewing as the first. :p Soon after that, my dad actually decided to come in from talking to his idiot friends.. But since he had returned from church, he only came in to change clothes and escape again. “Nothing on TV”, he says. Yes, just because there’s no sports to watch. *rolls eyes* I was waiting to watch that NBC preview DVD with him but.. oh well. Just keep proving how low I am on your priority list. Ass. ..So I watched that NBC previews DVD. Out of the six new shows featured, I find Medium (Sixth Sense: The Series.. at last! ..sorta..) and Revelations (ooh.. Touched By An X-File πŸ˜‰ ) the most interesting. Can’t wait to see ’em. πŸ™‚ ..Now I’m bored and alone in this apartment.. *sigh*

Well, that was lame. I only watched the VMAs for the Christina Aguilera performance (which was quite awesome). I didn’t know it was going to be some “choose or lose” convention. By the end, I felt like I was watching some national convention coverage for something. Totally overboard. I was surprised Polyphonic Spree was performing though. Awesome. I wonder what song that was.. I wanna download it. πŸ™‚ That Alicia Keys / Stevie Wonder / Lenny Kravitz performance was pretty cool too. I fell asleep for the first half but it looks like I didn’t miss any “OMG” intro, based on the DVR’s recording.. :p Laguna Beach looks interesting. At least it’s not another damn “reality” show. *rolls eyes*

That Dino Thunder promo on Toon Disney was weird. It focused on the return of Zeltrax. Boy, was Elsa surprised. πŸ™‚ Elsa: “Zeltrax!” Zeltrax: “Yes, I’m back and better than ever” It also mentioned some kind of tree that Mesogog wants to get his hands on, and Zeltrax was shown messing with. O_o Zeltrax (picks up branch): “You played right into my hands. Eternal life is mine!”; Mesogog: “I must get that treeee.”. I bet that tree is where the battlizer comes from. The origin becomes more freaky every year.. :p The episode should be interesting though.

Damn, today sucked. My dad was really acting like an ass. And I bored almost all day. At least the week begins tomorrow. I don’t get to media buy until Wednesday though. :/

..See ya.. and I leave you with this little quote I overheard this afternoon… :p

“Why shouldn’t I work for the NSA? That’s a tough one. But I’ll take a shot. Say I’m working at the NSA, and somebody puts a code on my desk, somethin’ no one else can break. Maybe I take a shot at it and maybe I break it. And I’m real happy with myself, ’cause I did my job well. But maybe that code was the location of some rebel army in North Africa or the Middle East and once they have that location, they bomb the village where the rebels are hiding… Fifteen hundred people that I never met, never had no problem with get killed. Now the politicians are sayin’, “Oh, Send in the marines to secure the area” ’cause they don’t give a shit. It won’t be their kid over there, gettin’ shot. Just like it wasn’t them when their number got called, ’cause they were off pullin’ a tour in the National Guard. It’ll be some kid from Southie over there takin’ shrapnel in the ass. He comes back to find that the plant he used to work at got exported to the country he just got back from. And the guy who put the shrapnel in his ass got his old job, ’cause he’ll work for fifteen cents a day and no bathroom breaks. Meanwhile he realizes the only reason he was over there in the first place was so that we could install a government that would sell us oil at a good price. And of course the oil companies used the little skirmish over there to scare up domestic oil prices. A cute little ancillary benefit for them but it ain’t helping my buddy at two-fifty a gallon. They’re takin’ their sweet time bringin’ the oil back, of course, maybe even took the liberty of hiring an alcoholic skipper who likes to drink martinis and fuckin’ play slalom with the icebergs, it ain’t too long ’til he hits one, spills the oil and kills all the sea life in the North Atlantic. So now my buddy’s out of work. He can’t afford to drive, so he’s walking to the fuckin’ job interviews, which sucks because the shrapnel in his ass is givin’ him chronic hemorrhoids. And meanwhile he’s starvin’ ’cause every time he tries to get a bite to eat the only blue plate special they’re servin’ is North Atlantic scrod with Quaker State. So what did I think? I’m holdin’ out for somethin’ better. I figure fuck it, while I’m at it why not just shoot my buddy, take his job, give it to his sworn enemy, hike up gas prices, bomb a village, club a baby seal, hit the hash pipe and join the National Guard? I could be elected President.” — Will, “Good Will Hunting”

Saturday 08.28.04 — MMPR White Ranger: “Finally cut that hair, huh Tommy?”

August 28, 2004

I’m listening to that Katy Rose CD right now. Just awesome. πŸ™‚

After saying he would never return to his New Jersey “trilogy”, Kevin Smith is now planning to make a sequel to Clerks. Wow. O_O I hope he changes that title though. Eek.

8:02AM (Dino Thunder spoiler warning)
Whoa. I actually enjoyed today’s Best of Turbo more than I thought I would. Then Power Rangers Dino Thunder expanded on that enjoyment by 34654523. >_> In “Fighting Spirit” (this might not be in perfect episode order, but still..), Hayley has figured out a way to return Tommy to his old visible self.. but needs a power source for the device. Tommy gives her his Dino Gem to power it, and even though they don’t think it’s a very good idea, they do it anyway. Something goes wrong and Tommy is turned visible.. but now he’s in a deep coma and his Dino Gem is now in pieces. Meanwhile, Elsa digs with some drilling device until they find what they’ve came for: a white crystal that’s made of the same stuff as the ranger’s Dino Gems. She powers up the previously-defeated Terrorsaurus with this new-found power source. Hayley and the rangers get Tommy to Reefside Hospital but the doctor assigned finds he can do nothing for him. Then they see Terrorsaurus attacking on the news and the rangers go to battle. Meanwhile, inside Tommy’s mind, he comes across one of his old selves, Zeo Ranger V (Red). Tommy discovers he can’t morph into Black. They battle in a desert setting (until Red Zeo departs) while the rangers battle their previous foe once again. But then Terrorsaurus fries all of their powers (causing them all to demorph) and leaves. That’s when Cassidy and Devin arrive. They were sent by that news guy to get some ranger footage during the battle (..without any cameras). The rangers hide their morphers as the duo approach. Cassidy inquires about their battered state, then is told that the rangers never came to help. Back inside Tommy’s mind, he’s now in a barren forest setting. He says he’s not in Reefside anymore, and a voice replies that he’s not in Angel Grove either. The White Ranger appears before Tommy and another battle ensues. While the rangers have returned to his bedside. The news soon reports though that Terrorsaurus is attacking once again. The powerless rangers take off to meet up with him. Cassidy is told she has the lead story on today’s news broadcast.. a story about the rangers abandoning the city. Cassidy decided to take up the offer, while Devin says he’s not going along with this. After a while, the White Ranger departs as well.. then Tommy is transported to a greener forest setting. Here he sees the Green Ranger (the helmet seems to look a bit different though). Yet another exciting battle ensues (featuring a new version of the classic Dragon Dagger tune). Cassidy does her news report.. then switches it around to say that she doubts the rangers would just abandon the city, Devin is pleased, but that news guy isn’t. The rangers meet up with Terrorsaurus and get their powerless asses handed to them. :/ The three past ranger forms of Tommy appear together and tell him that he has been battling to live this whole time, has passed the test, and hand him his three Dino Gem pieces. He soon awakens in the hospital, then joins the rangers in battle. He destroys Terrorsaurus all by himself (well, with the help of his new Super Dino Mode). This releases the white crystal, which breaks and gives the other rangers their power back. Just when I thought we’d go one episode without a zord battle, Terrorsaurus is resurrected in huge form and the core three rangers bust out their zords for a near-useless 1-minute battle (going Super Dino in the cockpit was neato). Back at HQ, the rangers hear the story of what happened to Tommy and they react quite like how the fans are probably reacting to this episode on RangerBoard as write this (haha). The rangers comment that they’re glad that he’s back… even though he technically never went anywhere. :p What an awesome episode! I officially thank Doug Sloan and the writers for making up for the less-than-awesome episodes we have gotten as of late. Maybe they we focusing on making this one perfect while abandoning the others? *shrug* I just wish this one had a chance of coming out on DVD.. 😦 Next week (er, week from tomorrow): Conner whines once again over if he’s cut out to be a ranger.. then forgets all about that when he gets a new toy: the Triassic battlizer. What a baby.. Oh, and he uses it to battle a resurrected Zeltrax.. :p

Also, today is Power Rangers‘ eleventh anniversary. The very first episode, “Day Of The Dumpster”, aired on this date in 1993. Happy birthday! And what a way to celebrate… πŸ˜‰

Following PRDT, I watched that three-part Radio Free Roscoe finale that I DVRed. Now I remember how great those episodes were. Then, I got online for a little. After that, I finally watched / taped the final two episodes of Vandread that I DVRed last night. WOW. Now that was a finale. Action, adventure, heroic speeches.. and even a little comedy. I am so buying this series on DVD.. some day. πŸ™‚

Also, Doug Sloan has posted a message on RangerBoard concerning the endlessly good reception for this morning’s new Dino Thunder episode. He hints that PR veteran, and writer of the episode, Jackie Marchand is sticking around for S.P.D.. And he notes that the upcoming two-part Ninja Storm / Dino Thunder team-up arriving in October is “absolutely insane!” lol πŸ™‚

*sigh* Boredom. I’m surprised it took this long to set in.. I’m waiting to watch this documentary premiering on the Sundance Channel in about an hour. I guess I’ll watch it in my room. With the small screen. And no comfortable places to sit. -_- ..damn, this Mt Dew Pitch Black rocks.. Can’t wait for tonight. My dad will be watching NASCAR and football.. at the same time. I’ll be double the bored. 😦

*rolls eyes @ how RangerBoard has become so.. censored* Funaro: “Ray justifies RB as a gestapo state by saying it makes the actors happy. Um, Emma told him she wants flaming RB back. Chan and Sally haven’t REGULARLY posted since the treaty. Doug flames INCESSANTLY, which is FUNNY. He sold out. He FUCKING SOLD OUT.” So true… 😦 Funaro: “Oh, and guys? I don’t think Sal came back for real. And I’ll tell you why. Check her member status. There’s no ‘previous time online.’ Just offline. Sally joined before ‘last time online’ was a feature… But if she’d logged in recently, it WOULD activate. I think it was Ray or somebody saying goodbye ‘for’ her.” Interesting…

I’m not watching most of The President vs. David Hicks. I laughed at that part where they questioned that army guy from Guantanamo Bay about if these people will get justice in court, and he replied with some bullshit line that had barely anything to do with what was asked. Then, he said the exact same thing later in the film, when asked about prisoners not being able to have contact with family members and lawyers! I do commend him for memorizing so well the bullshit lines they give him to say though *rolls eyes*.. I think I’ll be more interested in seeing Uncovered: The Whole Truth About The Iraq War on Sundance next month..

Damn. I didn’t expect to sleep that long. I was bored, so I thought I could sit down on the couch and sleep for maybe an hour or two.. But then I slept for over four hours. Heh… This guy in #power-rangers is getting really annoying. I asked him to send one of the rare Mighty RAW tracks (the fservs with them are locked from me because of some firewall crap). He says no, and soon adds a rule to his ad pretty much saying “don’t do what I did”. Then, an op asks for them, and he sends every single one. I understand the op superiority crap, but still… 😐 ..To anyone that has “Silver Ranger” and/or “Zords (Instrumental)” by The Mighty RAW: pleeease send them to me. I’d reeeally appreciate it. *sighs* *falls to pieces*

*sigh* Today wasn’t that bad.. I guess. Tomorrow will most likely be even worse.. See ya.

prdt game minisites / potc 3-dvd explained / today

August 27, 2004

THQ has finally put their Power Rangers Dino Thunder game mini-sites online, for PlayStation 2, GameCube and Game Boy Advance. On the former two is confirmation of the ability to use Zords from Wild Force and Ninja Storm, as well as some all new yet frustratingly small screenshots. It looks as if they’ve really fine-tuned the look. It looks somewhat better than those first three screenshots. πŸ™‚

For those of you wondering about that upcoming 3-disc Pirates Of The Caribbean DVD set, rest easy. It’s only a re-release with an extra “lost” disc including eight new featurettes. Check out for cover art…

Today began rather boringly. At least I was able to get out of house though (I like watching the hot college girls my age walk to and from their classes πŸ˜‰ *ahem*). I went to Walgreens and bought some stuff to last me the ..half-week.. including some of that new Mountain Dew Pitch Black. Can’t wait to try it. :p My dad also went to that damn Wal-Mart grocery store. I commented on the way back: “In a few decades, they’ll own the world.. but you’ll still get your DEALS!” lol.. Soon after the news that my dad had to watch, we watched Elephant (for the second time, in my case). As expected, my dad’s simple mind didn’t enjoy it until the action started. *rolls eyes* ..Then my dad tuned to this cheesy, unintentionally funny movie called The Glow, on Lifetime. :p It was about this group of cult-like old farts who live in this building.. and they start killing people! lol. ..Don’t ya hate coming to a chat room about Power Rangers.. then seeing everyone talking sentai / kamen rider? I’m probably the only one who does. Because that instantly leaves me out. I have no interest in seeing sentai whatsoever.. after watching a few subbed hurricanger episodes on bootleg dvd (to date, I’ve only watched 2 eps out of 8). That’s why I’m so silently in these AIM chats every week. 😦 ..Anyway, the rest of the afternoon and evening were pretty boring and uneventful.. I got to try out Pitch Black though. And I love it. O_O ..My dad was nice enough to evacuate the house when me shows were about to come on. I watched Degrassi Unscripted: Miriam McDonald (a babe that could kick my ass.. *drools*), followed by the Radio Free Roscoe season premiere.. which now seems to be turning into “I Love Lily”.. I love Lily too, but that’s beside the point. >_> Cool episodes though, but I think my anticipation was a bit too high.. because I didn’t really enjoy them as much as I thought I would (watch for the same thing to happen tommorow with PRDT :p). I’ll try to watch the three-part cliff-hanging season finale again (I set it to DVR at like 5AM or something).. I spent the rest of the night downloading multiple versions of the new Christina single in order to find the perfect.. radio rip. :/ I hope there’s a CD rip soon…

Grr. I can’t get this hit counter to work in my userinfo. I’ve seen others use them. Why won’t mine work? 😦 ..See ya.

emma update / kids wb fall / star wars eps 7-9 / godzilla vs godzilla / destroy all humans / today

August 26, 2004

Power Rangers Dino Thunder‘s Emma Lahana has made RangerBoard her LiveJournal as she once again posts there with an update. She’s heading back to New Zealand for a few weeks, then will return to LA. Also notice the reference that we (the fans) “will really enjoy” this weekend’s episode (Doug Sloan has also claimed we will “love it”).. could it be the four Tommys episode? πŸ™‚ *gets impure thoughts upon reading her closing words: “Me love you long time!”* πŸ˜‰

Kids’ WB has sent out a press release for their new season, beginning September 11th. I think I haven’t watched a Kids WB series since Batman Beyond… but I’m curious about The Batman, so I may tune in for that… πŸ™‚

A spokeswoman for Lucasfilm has denied to E! Online persistent rumors that a third trilogy of Star Wars movies is planned.

Suuuuurrre… First denying they’ll make Episodes I, II, and III all those years ago and now this… :p

Japan’s Yahoo News has revealed that the final, climactic battle in Ryuhei Kitamura’s upcoming movie Godzilla Final Wars will feature a traditional actor in rubber suit Japanese Gojira/Godzilla fighting a fully CG animated Godzilla from the 1998 American Godzilla movie.

lol! Now that would be something interesting to watch.. :p

For those interested in the upcoming Destroy All Humans! video game that I mentioned here recently, IGN PS2 (who says the game is one of their most-anticipated of Winter) has a new article with the basic storyline and some screens. Nice! I wish this was coming sooner than February 2005 though. :/

Today started pretty late (I woke up early at first, then slept in). I was wanting to watch a movie in the morning. But by the time I woke up, my dad was to go off somewhere. So I wasted some more hours online. :p In the afternoon, we watched my Hollow Man DVD. I really liked this one, I originally watched the last 2/3rds on TV a while back and decided to buy. It was funny noticing some of the differences, like Rhona Mitra’s robe was closed (with cleavage) on the TV version of a scene.. while it was way open on the DVD. πŸ˜‰ *ahem* Good movie. Great special effects too… After that, my dad left again while I watched a little G4TechTV. Some time after he got back, I remembered the Reno 911 episode I had DVRed the night before and watched that. Hilarious, as usual. πŸ™‚ ..The rest of the evening went by rather quickly. And I’m glad. Because I was very bored most of the time. 😦

Tomorrow’s Friday. Woohoo. The Radio Free Roscoe season premiere, alongside the first Degrassi Unscripted. I’m starting to think they may be going too far with RFR though.. unless one of the guys stops having feelings for Lily or something. Because TV Guide claims there’s another Lily love interest being introduced this season. Aiyiyi… See ya.

prdt dvd site / new prdt game details / misc pr / star wars tv dvds / pirates dvd / not free / today

August 25, 2004

Disney Video surprises us again: they have put together a nice little official website for the Power Rangers Dino Thunder DVDs. Okay, so the trailer included for the Vol 2 & 3 DVDs is just a poor hack job of the Vol 1 trailer (only the covers and ending are changed, I believe all the scenes are still from Vol 1.. and I don’t think we’re getting two bonus Ninja Storm episodes on Vol 2 & 3 :p). The game links to Jetix’s “Power Puzzler” game, but the wallpapers are still original promotion for the upcoming Vol 2 & 3. πŸ™‚ provides a new description for the upcoming Power Rangers Dino Thunder game for PS2:

The mad scientist Mesagog plans to send the world back into the age of dinosaurs, and only the Dino Thunder Power Rangers can stop him. As one of these heroes, you must stop Mesagog and his Tyrannodrones by using the Dino Zords–powerful creatures that are part dinosaur and part machine. You can switch between Zords in the middle of missions and enhance their abilities with special power-ups. Test your skills in more than 50 different missions and minigames in 10 free-roaming worlds.

The new details at the end of the description are most interesting. I’m most excited that it’s free-roaming, like the Grand Theft Auto series and the recent Spider-Man 2 game. I’m so getting this on release week… πŸ™‚

Now here’s a surprise: Power Rangers Ninja Storm‘s Sally Martin posted at RangerBoard again today. πŸ™‚ Also, the mystery of the Power Rangers CD recently released in the UK is solved: it was only a UK release of the “Best of Power Rangers” CD… now has a November 23rd release date and cover art for the upcoming Star Wars: Animated Adventures DVDs: Ewoks & Droids. TheDigitalBits is reporting the reason behind the “Double Feature” banner on the covers: each will include a selection of episodes EDITED down to make two movies each (of around 85-90 minutes each). 😦 I think I’m more likely to get those two Ewok TV movies though (to be released on the same day).. :p

Oh boy, Buena Vista is doing some DVD “double dipping” now… They have announced a new three-disc DVD set for Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, due on November 3rd. No other information is yet known. My number one rule for re-releases still stands: no extended cut = no re-sale. :p

What was Mayor Bloomberg in New York thinking? If groups of twenty or more people arrive as a group in New York City during the Republican National Convention (RNC) wearing “I Love New York” or “I Love Bush” t-shirts they will be welcomed with open arms in the Big Apple. But if a group of twenty or more people arrive wearing “Bush Lied Thousands Died:” t-shirts they are threatened with arrest for carrying out an unlawful demonstration – unless, of course, they applied for and received a permit. But the City is refusing to grant permits to groups holding anti-Bush rallies in Central Park.

This stopped being a free country a loooong time ago… *sigh*

Today began with me watching the DVRed Dino Thunder repeat from earlier in the morning. I decided to re-DVR “Ocean Alert” since it’s being skipped over on the upcoming DVDs. And now that I’ve seen it again, I really wish they had kept it included. 😦 ..Later, I tried watching / taping my DVRed copy of Cowboy Bebop: The Movie.. but I fell asleep for most of it. 😦 I’ve only seen maybe 1 or 2 episodes of the series.. At least it’s still on tape.. All afternoon, I was online. After awhile, it became soooooo boring. Nothing better to do though, with my dad in control of the main TV. ..I hope he gets a new job soon.. In primetime, I finally got to watch my Mighty Morphin Season 2 Vol 10 VCD. More awesome episodes, continuing to cement my opinion that Season 1 was the “worst” of the three MMPR seasons. I was surprised by Scorpina’s return in “Goldar’s Vice Versa”. The episode was only the slightest bit familiar to me too. :p It would have been great if they had gone though with another episode with Scorpina, like the scrapped 3-part “Zordon, I Shrunk The Rangers” episode from late Season 2. ..After that, my dad and I watched the last episode of the Family Guy mini-repeat-a-thon. And I actually caught my dad enjoying it. Maybe there’s hope for him after all..?

Well.. see ya…

power picks 6 & 7 results / media buys / today

August 24, 2004

The listings for the next two weeks of Power Rangers Power Picks voting has been confirmed. On August 28th at 11AM ET, we get Zeo‘s “Rangers Of Two Worlds” Parts 1 & 2 (it’ll be cool seeing these again). Then on September 5th, the “Legacy of the Battlizer” marathon will begin at 8:30AM ET and run in from least to most-voted order (except for PRDT): Lost Galaxy‘s “Facing the Past”, Ninja Storm‘s “Shane’s Karma” Parts 1 & 2, Time Force‘s “Beware the Knight”, Wild Force‘s “The Wings of Animaria”, Space‘s “Mission to Secret City”, and will conclude with the all-new Dino Thunder episode “The Passion of Conner” (a day late). πŸ™‚

The day began with burning of that The Days VCD and downloading a few rare Power Rangers tracks from a very nice someone.. that I bugged with “send me this, send me that” quite a few times. Sorry dude (if you’re reading) and thanks again and again an– Oh, I also went media buying…

My only store visit for this week was to Best Buy, were I picked up the Girl Next Door (Unrated Version) DVD, as well as two copies of the Best Buy exclusive Maxim DVD *ahem*.. and CD sampler and free NBC fall preview DVD. The last item was screwed up in their system. They were charging $5 for promotional material. “It’s free with Apprentice Season 1.” *blinks* That’d be the LAST DVD I’d ever buy. But they looked in the weekly Best Buy ad and saw it was in fact free.. and called up some higher-up to confirm. At least I got my $5 back.. at a time when I probably have $15 left.. after buying the rave-reviewed 911 In Plane Site DVD last night. I just couldn’t wait any longer. 😐 And yay, it’s coming UPS..

Later, we finally watched.. the Girl Next Door DVD. I just could wait to see this.. since I’ve been waiting about a year for the DVD once I first heard about the movie. Mostly because I’ve been a fan of Elisha Cuthbert since I first saw 24 Season 1 hour 1.. And film definitely didn’t disappoint. There’s enough of Elisha’s bare skin for her (mostly male) fans, and the story is great too. Elisha plays Daniel, a former porn star who moves in next door to Matthew. They become attracted to each other soon after Matthew sneaks a peek into her bedroom. πŸ˜‰ Then she totally turns his life around. I really could see myself watching this again and again (and not just for the Elisha parts.. sometimes :p). I always looked up to Fox DVD, and this one is a pretty solid release, in my opinion. I only dislike that they chose to make it a flipper disc (with the film on one side, special features on the other). And that they tease the less intelligent by placing a cardboard slipcover over Elisha’s clothes.. that can only be slipped off the case once you’ve purchased it. Haha. I also feel for the (pathetic) ones who prefer full screen on DVD every time. Because the only version of this film in full screen is on the theatrical DVD. :p ..The rest of the afternoon and evening were spent inside on the computer, like usual.. I would have watched another MMPR VCD.. but my dad pretty much stayed in doors all night because of that damn storm. 😦 So that only caused more boredom. *sigh*

I give up. See ya…

spd theme & actor news / abc series / alien gaming / new psp shots / oh god / pitch black / today

August 23, 2004

Ron Wasserman of The Mighty RAW has posted on RangerBoard! And he comes with great news — Disney has accepted his Power Rangers S.P.D. theme song! He also says it’s hard rock in the style of the original “Go Go Power Rangers” theme that he wrote. Awesome! πŸ™‚

Speaking of S.P.D., the first actor to appear on this 13th season has been confirmed. Matt Austin is to play Bridge, the Green Ranger. The original source was IMDB (known to be unreliable), but someone contacted the actor via e-mail later in the thread and they confirmed it…

Lucky I checked the e-mail Victor…It’s true. On September 8th I leave Toronto to fly to New Zealand to meet the cast, start training and begin the new series. It looks like it will be a great year.

Thanks for your interest.

Two of ABC’s new fall dramas, Desperate Housewives and Lost, have been licensed by Disney to Germany’s Premiere pay channel, and, in a novel twist, they will air just days after their U.S. premieres, Variety reported. Lost premieres Sept. 22 in the United States, and Housewives follows Oct. 3.

Wow. Can’t wait to see these shows too (“Housewives” for the sci-fi twist in the storyline.. and “Lost” for the multi-million-dollar-budgeted pilot movie, as well as my favorite Roswell hottie Emilie De Ravin is co-starring). πŸ™‚

“Shock rocker Marilyn Manson will lend his voice to an alien called Edgar who acts as narrator in Area 51, a new video game, the Web site reported.” Cooool.. I guess. I wonder why they became too cheap to make new cover art for this game? It’s a remake of the hit arcade / PC / PlayStation 1 version.. but they’re using the same cover as the original for the new PS2 version. 😦 Ah well.. I’m looking more forward to Destroy All Humans! anyway, which has been described as Grand Theft Auto 50s ‘little green men’ style.. or something like that. Yup, you’re a big-headed alien who comes to Earth looking for your brother.. but stopping to abuse the humans a little along the way. >:) It’s due for PS2 in early 2005… has some new shots of the PlayStation Portable… πŸ™‚ *drools*

Producer Jerry Weintraub and Warner Brothers have set Ellen DeGeneres to star in a remake of the 1977 fantasy comedy film Oh, God!, playing the title character originally performed by George Burns, Variety reported.

*blinks* …What? O_o

*drools @ Mountain Dew Pitch Black* Must.. find.. some… Loved Code Red, but didn’t like Live Wire as much… :/

The day started right where I left off: searching for a torrent of last night’s episode of The Days. The place I usually go to download it a few hours after it’s finished airing didn’t put it online at all last night (or hasn’t even put it up as of this writing). I even stayed up until 2:30AM waiting for it. :p Then an online friend of mine found another place. Thanks, Slade.. My dad left fairly early to go to the grocery store. So I took that time to watch Saturday night’s Dragonball GT on DVR.. but I fell asleep. Damnit. So I rewound it all the way back to the 1/3-way point and played it over again. It was a very intriguing episode. I always wondered what would happen if the Dragon Balls weren’t there to fall back on. πŸ™‚ ..Later, we watched my Shallow Hal DVD. Great movie, with funny as well as compassionate moments. I had rented it before, but I thought it was so great, I just had to buy it eventually. :p About half way through, the DVD started defecting really bad. So I had to return it to Target. lol @ the security guard bozo ghosting me so hard. *in dvd area* *guard heads to dvd area* *comes in the opposite direction and enters an aisle* *guard turns and walks by aisle etc* Don’t ya think I might be sweating a bit too much because of my bad health, mister? *rolls eyes* I also bought Katy Rose’s CD.. because I liked her single.. and I saw her CD cover / poster in Cooper’s room on The Days *ahem* ..We got back home and watched of the rest of the film without any problems. Yay… The rest of the afternoon was wasted on the computer. :/ In the evening, I watched the 70s Show repeats and my Mighty Morphin Season 2 Vol 9 VCD. “Zedd Waves” is officially my favorite stand-alone episode from Season 2 ever.. so far. lol @ Skull (under Zedd’s spell): “Hail, Lord Fred.” :p Beam Caster was pretty cool too..

I thought these links deserved to be more out in the open.. so I’ve added them to my LJ userinfo.. :p
