airing schedules updated

July 31, 2003

Disregard the previous entry. I moved all the airing schedule info to a new file and deleted the old one. It looks exactly the same (except I removed another series in the process) and the Cool Page file was reduced to only 145KB (but the file size seems to grow larger with every save). And it loaded and saved in a snap! Awesome…but quite odd.

See ya.

The Future of the Airing Schedules page

July 31, 2003

My popular airing schedules page is getting more difficult to update every week. I use Cool Page to edit my webpages because at this time I only know the basics of HTML. The Cool Page file used to store the airing schedules page has grown to almost 85MB, no matter how much I cut from the page. Every week, I have to load the file, edit it, save it, and place it online. With my 6GB hard drive, this has become a very difficult task. Every week, I have to search my hard drive repeatedly for useless files to delete until there’s enough space to load and save this file. It keeps getting more and more difficult to update this page every week. Please feel free to vote on the future of my airing schedules below.

And if you aren’t able to vote here because only LiveJournal users are able to vote (I learned this after creating it), please reply to this entry with your thoughts since everyone can do that…

Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life

July 31, 2003

WOW. Tomb Raider 2 was awesome! It’s just as great as the first, in my opinion… maybe even a bit better. It was action-packed from beginning to end. Don’t know where all of these less than positive reviews were based on. I’m definitely hoping for another sequel of this caliber and can’t wait for the DVD of this one in a few months…

And now I have work to do. Argh. I really don’t know how much longer I can update this schedule every week. It’s becoming much more of a burden every week. Well, off to work. *sigh*

See ya.

I hate my life.

Vote to Impeach Bush

So I guess I’m not seeing Tomb Raider 2 again today. My dad has got to stay home all day to wait for his radar detector to come in the mail because he’s too paranoid that the neighbors (that supposedly stole his car stereo) will take this item as well. I don’t think his shit toy will come today (free shipping + sent four days ago), so another day wasted I guess. So damn boooorrrrreeeed…

And I see that the next week of Power Rangers airings have been released. I’m getting a headache just thinking about updating that gawdamn airing schedules page!

Update (about 1 hour later): Oh. So his toy came after all. And I finally got the Pursuit of Happiness DVD I ordered as well. And my dad still wants to go to the movie. And I still feel like crap. And AIM isn’t connecting. And my html editor failed to load the airing schedule page to edit. Fuck that. I’ll update later today…if I feel like it. And I probably won’t…

See ya.

“You know the world is going crazy when the best rapper is a white guy, the best golfer is a black guy, the tallest guy in the NBA is Chinese, the Swiss hold the America’s Cup, France is accusing the U.S. of arrogance, Germany doesn’t want to go to war, and the three most powerful men in America are named ‘Bush’, ‘Dick’, and ‘Colon.’ Need I say more?” -Chris Rock

media shell updates / kids world

July 30, 2003

I watched Daredevil and Solaris tonight. Daredevil was awesome. I even liked it more than Spider-man. In the end, I even felt like wanting to see it again, so I’ve added it to my “watch again soon” stack. And Solaris was all right… Okay, I admit it. It wasn’t that great really. The plot was all right I guess. But there was just something that messed it all up for me. My dad didn’t seem to like either of them, even moreso on the latter.

So we were going to see two movies tomorrow. Now we’re only seeing Tomb Raider 2 then T3 on Saturday, after my dad gets paid. I get paid (for the month) on Friday too. Yay.

There’s nothing much in media buys next week, August 5th: only the RahXephon Vol. 4 DVD I couldn’t find yesterday and the new Smash Mouth CD. And throughout the whole month, there’s only five definite new DVDs to get. Maybe next month, I can actually save up a bit (unlike this month) for all that’s to come…

I found a Kids World DVD ad in this week’s Video Store Magazine. Y’know, the movie starring Blake Foster, the Blue Turbo Ranger. Heh. Don’t know why Power Rangers fans hate him. I only find his role in PR to be less than well written (and remember, Funaro hinted at something big happening concerning him within a month). Anyway, his role in Kids World is Ryan Mitchell (that’s the same character name as the Lightspeed Rescue Titanium Ranger for those not in the know)! No release date was listed, but I think the movie’s being released next Tuesday…

Ooh. Degrassi’s on. See ya.

Mars / fall premieres

July 30, 2003

I thought I should pass this on because it sounds coooool…

The Red Planet is about to be spectacular! This month and next, Earth is catching up with Mars in an encounter that will culminate in the closest approach between the two planets in recorded history. The next time Mars may come this close is in 2287. Due to the way Jupiter’s gravity tugs on Mars and perturbs its orbit, astronomers can only be certain that Mars has not come this close to Earth in the Last 5,000 years, but it may be as long as 60,000 years before it happens again.

The encounter will culminate on August 27th when Mars comes to within 34,649,589 miles of Earth and will be (next to the moon) the brightest object in the night sky. It will attain a magnitude of -2.9 and will appear 25.11 arc seconds wide. At a modest 75-power magnification Mars will look as large as the full moon to the naked eye. Mars will be easy to spot. At the beginning of August it will rise in the east at 10p.m. and reach its azimuth at about 3 a.m.

By the end of August when the two planets are closest, Mars will rise at nightfall and reach its highest point in the sky at 12:30a.m. That’s pretty convenient to see something that no human being has seen in recorded history. So, mark your calendar at the beginning of August to see Mars grow progressively brighter and brighter throughout the month. Share this with your children and grandchildren. NO ONE ALIVE TODAY WILL EVER SEE THIS AGAIN.

Also, here’s some fall premiere dates:
“Enterprise” (UPN) – September 10
“Jake 2.0” (UPN) – September 10
“C.S.I.: Miami” (CBS) – September 22
“C.S.I.: Crime Scene Investigation” (CBS) – September 25
“Joan of Arcadia” (CBS) – September 26
“Charmed” (The WB) – September 28
“Alias” (ABC) – September 28
“Smallville” (The WB) – October 1
“Angel” (The WB) – October 1
“Tarzan” (The WB) – October 5
“24” (FOX) – October 28
“Tru Calling” (FOX) – October 30
“Wonderfalls” (FOX) – January 2004
“Stephen King’s Kingdom Hospital” (ABC) – February 5, 2004
“Fearless” (The WB) – Winter/Spring 2004

I updated my Power Rangers DVD Guide again. I forgot to add the re-releases of the two movies. Heh.

I’m bored. And I refuse to listen to Bush’s lies on TV right now… See ya.

Jason Chan speaks, Part 3 / etc

July 30, 2003

You know the drill. More posts from Jason Chan. 🙂

I wasn’t able to see any movies tonight (like I told you). Hopefully I can see at least one tomorrow.

I might not get up to tape Power Rangers Zeo tomorrow after all. I already have the episodes taped. It’s just that if I tape them again, they’ll be in the correct order. So I doubt I’ll tape them at all.

*looks at watch* Crap! G’night!

media buys 7.29.03

July 29, 2003

I ended up going to Circuit City, and then Best Buy…for no reason at all…

Daredevil - WIDESCREEN Solaris - and it's the director approved widescreen edition! yay!

Yup. That’s all I managed to get. I went to Circuit City and got these. If you haven’t got Daredevil yet, recommend you get it there. It’s only $15.99 (I had a $5 off coupon, making it $10.99) and you get a free store exclusive DVD-ROM in the package (that I can’t…use yet).

I find the sticker on Solaris to be quite funny. It reads “DIRECTOR APPROVED WIDESCREEN EDITION. The black bars on the top and bottom of the screen are normal for this format.” Haha. They’re finally trying to teach the plebes. Awesome.

I then went to Best Buy only to find they had nothing I wanted in stock. I guess the idiots were too busy to get the new items out there. Spyro 4 wasn’t in stock. The sales person claims “this is all we got”. Sure, don’t mind looking in back or anything. I went to buy RahXephon Vol. 4 also. I actually bought Vol. 3 by accident at first and we had to turn it back around. Glad we weren’t out of the parking lot at least. I asked to exchange it, went beck to find it, got the same “this is all we got” bullshit, and got a full refund instead.

I just ordered Spyro 4 on even thought it’s currently out of stock there as well. Retail is $40, but their price is $10. I’ll wait until RahXephon Vol. 4 is in stock in the store. No way am I paying $23 ($3 more) on the website.

I wonder if I’ll be able to watch either of these tonight. I’m doubting it… 😦

See ya.

And your mother too…

July 29, 2003

I just finished watching Y Tu Mama Tambien. It was less ‘soft core porn’ than I thought. It was all right. I liked it. It’s at least good for a rental. The movie’s entirely in spanish (with optional english subtitles). I got this DVD free, so I’m definitely not complaining… I find it interesting that Alfonso Cuaron wrote, produced and directed this movie. He’s currently directing Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

Click here for more PlayStation Portable details from PSP Insider. Sounds awesome. I so can’t wait!

I woke up at 10am. Whee. I should keep the alarm off more often. But I’m taping Zeo tomorrow and Thursday. 😐

See ya.

Ugh. Ugh. Yay.

July 29, 2003

Well, lookie here. The tards at ABC want to make Good Morning America seven days a week, meaning PR may disappear from ABC altogether. PR would become a cable-only series on ABC Family. Ugh.

Also, the second Ninja Storm episode on ABC will be pre-empted on August 28th for some crappy special called “PGA Tour Fore Kids”. Double ugh.

I just printed up a coupon online for the Daredevil DVD tomorrow. Now I get $5 off for buying Daredevil and Solaris together at Best Buy, and another $5 off Daredevil with the coupon. Yay.

I should get to bed. I would like to do something more than sleep all day tomorrow. See ya.
