upfronts day 3 cbs & turner / upfront 3 bit / dexter s3 dvd date / ps home may 21 / today

It’s day 3 of the network TV upfront presentations.. and now CBS has announced their 2009-2010 TV schedule. Check out their new series trailers. How I Met Your Mother will be returning to the prime Monday 8PM ET timeslot, while The Big Bang Theory will move to 9:30PM ET on Monday, after Two & Half Men. These comedies will be joined by newcomer Accidentally On Purpose, starring Jenna Elfman, at 8:30PM ET. All three CSIs have been renewed, as well as NCIS, which will now be followed directly by its spinoff NCIS: Los Angeles. Due to this, The Mentalist will move to Thursdays at 10PM ET, after CSI. And I’m glad to see that CBS has rescued NBC’s Medium from cancellation. It will air right after Ghost Whisperer on Fridays at 9PM ET.. Missing however is Flashpoint. 😦

The Turner networks of TNT, TBS & TruTV have also announced slates of TV series for their networks. I think I have to check out TNT’s Untitled Alien Invasion Project from Executive Producer Steven Spielberg and Dreamworks.. as well as TruTV’s Conspiracy Theory with Jesse Ventura. πŸ™‚

In other upfront news, The CW has confirmed the cancellations of Everybody Hates Chris, The Game, Privileged.. and Reaper. 😦 But at least the report suggests that Reaper could still be picked up for cable or first-run syndication..

Dexter: The Third Season has been announced for DVD & Blu-ray release on August 18th. Looking forward to this one. πŸ™‚

Tomorrow (Thursday) in PlayStation Home, a new space for the Resistance games will open. It will feature a “Four Barrels of Fury” mini-game with leaderboards and unlockable rewards. Cooool.. Check out the link for a video of this impressive new space. πŸ™‚ ..Also, click here for the US PlayStation Home v1.21 patch notes.. that are actually quite similar to the UK version I previously linked to.. *shrug*

I awoke in the morning, had some breakfast, then watched the previous night’s Reaper (very good episode this week.. I hope there’s a Season 3) and Glee (Time magazine claims this is the funniest thing all year or whatever? I laughed maybe 2-3 times, got bored of it halfway in and ignored it until the DVRing finished playing :/ ..luckily, the Neilsen rating agree with me). My dad returned home from dialysis.. just as I got on PlayStation Home.

I eventually shut it off for a bit so he could watch his Ellen, but soon returned Home.. for the rest of the afternoon. And then at about 5PM, I watched four more episodes of Get Smart: Season 2 (lol.. but damnit, finding it a but difficult to pay attention). That ended a bit after 7PM. We had some supper, then I got online to news-gather.

In primetime, we watched the season finales of Old Christine (haha– predictable ending :/) and Gary Unmarried (actually like this show a bit more than the previous one.. this was a nice season “bookend” episode). Then my dad mainly lost interest as I watched Monday’s two-hour season finale of 24 (I really liked these episodes, particularly the latter one.. that ending was really nice.. please have Kim back next season πŸ™‚ ). I read some Spook Country (a real book.. that I’m only reading due to its title!), then returned to my room for the night.

See ya.

Any Reaper fans? Although the CW is not picking up Reaper, we not giving up yet. ABC Studios is still trying to move the show into syndication or cable. We’re advocating all Reaper fans to write their CW affiliates. All links and info here: http://community.livejournal.com/reaperdmv/44208.html And don’t forget to contact ABC Studios and thank them for not giving up on Reaper.
